The service is amassing. Recommendations were proposed as per our taste and we weren't disappointed. Kept the dinner lively and tasty for us :). A must go to for authentic Italian home food.

In Antwerp with friends for a wedding, staying in the Astoria Hotel. There was six in our group so picked Italian as it suited all the group. The hotel receptionist suggested Isola Sarda stating good food and not a in a chain. We had a look while walking around the area and booked a table. staff very helpful and helped in meal selection, we had a shared Pizza as starter which was made and cooked fresh right in front of you in a wood burner. All mains came together, all freshly cooled I had a fish pasta meal most had steaks which were well cooked and tasty. Wine was cheaper in a Carafe. Good night to start the weekend off with. Within easy walking reach of train station.

The pizza is made to perfection. Not the big fat soggy based pizza but a thin based crisp pizza base with fresh tasty toppings. It's no problem to add extras to make your own perfect pizza. The house wine is a basic wine for a basic price. It's good to have with a pizza. Do you fancy yourself a wine critic there is a decent choose of red and white wines by the bottle.
As for service. It was fast and friendly and the chef even gave us great pointers to make our stay in Antwerp even more pleasant.

A lovely little restaurant close to Antwerp train station. The service was very friendly and the affable owner insisted we try the special, gnochetti Sardi (sausage and tomato pasta with fennel and mushroom). He said we would want more when we finished it, and we did. Very reasonably priced as well, about 30 euros for two people including a beer each and bread & garlic butter to start. Highly recommended!

Found this restaurant online as it was listed as having gluten free options. When we walked in, we were greeted by very friendly staff. The owner sat us at our table, and discussed the menu with us since it was written in Dutch. When I asked about gluten free, the owner responded very enthusiastically and was very knowledgable about gluten free foods. He went out of his way to ensure I enjoyed my meal as much as my gluten eating boyfriend.
I requested gluten free pasta with vegetables and tomato sauce, and my boyfriend a calzone. We both ate up our food and multiple times said that it was some of the best italian we've had. The gluten free pasta was fresh and delicious, clearly homemade. And the tomato sauce was probably one of the best I've had.
We enjoyed our experience so much we went back a second time around.
Highly recommend. Excellent food with great service from this family ran restaurant. What else could you ask for?
